In reference to the title of this post, yes, I’m spending my final day of 2013 sick with the common cold, occasional coughing, and earlier this morning, suffering from dizziness and having a “light” head. As a result, I only worked 2 hours at the bakery cafe because everything I see around me, as well as feeling it at the same time, were becoming unbalanced. I took my first 10-minute break, but that didn’t help. Therefore, the supervisor let me go home to rest.
At work, we were also going to have our End of the Year Holiday Party right after the cafe closed at 2pm earlier today. Well, because of me being ill and bedridden and suffering from all the sneezing and the coughing, no partying for me and my fellow co-workers. But you know, it’s better if I slept through it and wake up feeling a little better than I was this morning. When I got home from work, I changed my clothes to my home clothes and went straight to bed.
We only have 3 hours to wait until we say goodbye to 2013.1 Reflecting back this year, I have to admit that it was a much better year than 2010,2 2011,3 and 2012.4 I finally had a chance to get back in to the working world through job search workshops, networking, and everything related. Even though I ended up in a job that’s not exactly my dream/preferred job, it’s a job nevertheless. For now, it would help me recover from my financial struggles until I finally had a chance to get back in the job market and pursue the job I’m used to. I also learned a lot about child themes and WordPress theme frameworks too,5 as well as learning new things through free courses such as ALISON, Khan Academy, edX, and Coursera. I also learned a few things or two (as well as refershing) of web development through Code Academy and Code School.
Most of all, I’ve met so many new people in my life, as well as reuniting with long distance family members whom I haven’t seen for ages. And in turn, I feel a whole lot more free, so to speak.
That is the quick summary of 2013. Of course, I would never forget notable figures whom we’ve lost this year, as well as the news events that truly shocked the world. I’m not gonna go in to details because one day they will be chronicled through history websites and history books. I would never forget the positives and negatives that also happened to me, what was said about me, and so on and so forth. in short, I look forward to a more prosperous year of my life in 2014.
So, that’s it for now. I just had to have this short and quick blog post as I am well enough to sit back up and face the computer screen to write this. I would’ve done it through my phone but it’s just not the same and not fast enough for me.
May you all have a happy and safe new year, everyone! Here’s to 2014!
