No, seriously. I’m not trying to be funny, but that’s what I’m feeling right now at the moment. Since it’s past midnight now, I would have to say yesterday.
Yesterday, I had another appointment with the doctor. The week before that, I had my blood test. I was hoping that I would be getting better results regarding my diabetes and yet the lab peeps have discovered that I’ve got… erm… other ailments. Some years before, the nurse practitioner before prescribed me some iron pills because my body was lacking iron, meaning I’ve got Iron-deficiency anemia. Then some two years later, my new doctor decided to take me off of the iron pills, thinking that they’re no longer needed. Well, guess what. The anemia came back and I’m going back to the iron pills again. My lack of iron may be rooted from my Red Sea weeks and possibly that I’m not eating enough food that has high sources of iron in them.
Next ailment, I’m also lacking some Vitamin D in my system. The doctor suspected that I haven’t been hanging out under the sun often, which causes it. Now that is rather difficult to do anyway. For one thing, I go to work. Second, the weather and the unpredictable seasons as of late.1 Third, I haven’t been drinking milk or eating enough foods that are high sources of Vitamin D. Fourth, well… regardless of my current “fit” figure, my body mass index still states that I’m obese. The doctor prescribed me two types of doses of Vitamin D pills: one to take once a week (50000 UNIT) and the other to take once a day (1000 UNIT).
Final ailment, my urine test indicated that I am having some “protein leak” (not sure if I heard the doctor correctly) and that it may be a very early signs of a possible kidney problem. The doctor prescribed me a very low dose of Lisinopril to protect me from high blood pressure (even though I’ve never had it) and from the kidney problems. I take that once a day.
So, those four, along with my current three (Metformin and Glyburide for the diabetes, Simvastatin for my cholesterol), have become part of my daily meal. Oh damn, now I just spilled out my medications list and my current ailment, but I don’t let it bother me. Aside from those new ailments, the rest of my blood test turned out negative and normal. Even my cholesterol level has been really good too. My fasting sugar level, err… not so good. That’s partially my fault though.2
On the other hand, I’m not getting any younger, that’s for sure. I turn 40 late this year and I’m a little bit nervous too, healthwise reasons. Thus…

- eating snacks right after dinner… I shouldn’t be doing that anymore… even if they’re healthy snacks. Dammit… [↩]
