Aside from me still being unemployed, more bad stuff had to happen. Never mind this country’s economy. We already know how seriously bad the economy is right now.
A favorite uncle of mine passed away yesterday at noon of pneumonia. He had a stroke early last week but it was only mild and was able to survive through ICU. He even got his consciousness back for awhile until Friday when he fell unconscious again and had to rush him back to the ICU. The doctor determined that he just caught pneumonia at that time and had to put him on respiratory system again. Next day his condition worsened and majority of his body systems just shut down. Knowing there may not be any hope for him to recover they put him on life support. Next day my cousin from across the bay flew back to Seattle to visit the uncle (her father) and the rest of her family and it was also the day where the doctors would have to discuss with the family about his condition and what to do next. The doctors already knew that with his current condition there was nothing else they can do to revive him and that they can only offer two choices for the family. They can keep him under life support for a few more months and observe for any form of improvements or pull the plug. After hours of talking over and deciding the entire family decided to pull the plug. The doctor said that they’ll keep him on life support until Monday at noon, just in case, and if there really was no sign of recovery that they will just pull the plug.
I wish I can go and travel but due to my financial situation as well as my being unemployed it’s difficult to leave home while you’re reporting to the state for your UI (unemployment insurance) benefits. Next week my mom, brother, and sister are travelling to the Philippines for my cousin’s wedding for three weeks and I couldn’t go either. It kinda makes me feel rather left out and out of touch with my relatives. Life can be so unfair to me at times when it comes to family, but what else I could do? For the happy couple I’ll definitely get them something and I’ll just send money or something to the family up in Seattle for my uncle’s funeral costs. One day I’ll have a chance to visit and get the heck out of California for a few days or weeks when I’m actually financially stable.
Life really sucks right now.
