I want to write about writing and blogging for profit for today. Mainly because of all the writing-related fanpages that I’ve joined on Facebook have been promoting about how to get in to the blogging business and actually making a lot of money just by blogging and writing in general. The problem is, majority of them are aiming towards niche bloggers.
I’m going to admit it. I want that writing for profit lifestyle.1
And yet, I have a little problem. I don’t exactly have a focus on one particular niche. I have plenty of “niches”2 for me to write on: reading/books, graphic/web designing, writing, anime/manga, J-Pop, video games, etc. I guess I’m just used to being a lifestyle blogger that I really don’t have a specific subject for me to focus my writing on and then make money off of it.
Seriously, I rather make money off of just my writing in general. That’s where my novelist/storywriter in me comes in. But then again, I’m one of those writers who just don’t end up finishing one project and then find another interest and focus on that instead. I have been completely guilty of that particular habit and it’s gotta stop if I really wanted to get serious with being a novelist.
I’ve fallen in love with Jukepop, even though I haven’t submitted any stories in there yet. I’m seriously going to take aim at this community and then earn some money off of it by having readers to come and check out my stories. I’m happy that they’re using the “serials” system, meaning I’ve got time to write chapter per chapter and then already make money off of it per chapter instead of waiting until my entire book finishes. It’d be like writing fanfiction at FanfictionNET or even amateur original fiction at FictionPress, Wattpad, Figment, and the likes.
I have been taking online classes at Udemy and not too many of them are about writing. I need to get in to some mental writing program or something just to kickstart my creative juices in words again. And maybe I can have my first start at for-profit fiction writing at Jukepop. I don’t know where else that does this concept online, but I’m glad that I’m joining in for free and not have to pay anything just to get started.
I will get there. Just watch.
