I have never done any blogging tag ever, however this is a good idea for breaking that blogger’s block that most of us everyday bloggers suffer a lot. I just happen to be one of those people.
So, here it is— my very first blog tag.
#1 When did you start your blog?
If we’re talking about blogging in general, I started blogging back in 2002. This particular blog, however, is fresh and brand new and was established just a few weeks ago: May 2014.
#2 Have you had any online presence before? YouTube, etc.?
Of course. If we are talking about building websites in general, I started during the very early days of web designing and development and the public use of the internet— 1997. My very first website that I built was a Dragon Ball Z/Dragon Ball GT fanfic site hosted by GeoCities. I didn’t discover the proper usage of HTML and CSS until about 1999 to 2000. Since then, I built mostly anime/manga fansites and it didn’t take me some three to four years until I started building a personal “all about me” website in 2002 (the year I started blogging).
#3 Why did you start your blog?
At first, I thought of having a blog as an “exercise” for writing in general. I thought that “free writing” would help me gather more ideas for future fanfic stories. But instead, I discovered blogging as a tool for me to vent out some certain frustrations or even just speak out my views over various topics and write about things I couldn’t talk about in my offline life, so to speak.
#4 When did you become serious about blogging?
I would say around 2004 during my ARASHI/J-Pop fangirling days. My previous blog from 2002 had gone through several changes and hosts. Back then I had very little to no knowledge of PHP and mySQL, therefore I simply just ended up starting all over whenever I’m not satisfied with not just the design, but the content, mostly.
#5 What was your first post?
If it’s blogging overall, it was mostly my blurb about blogging in general. It was on a custom noob-ish theme using Blogger (before Google purchased it). If it’s with this particular blog, it’s this.
#6 What has been your biggest challenge about blogging?
Like everyone else, having a blogger’s block. You’re inspired to write/blog, but you just don’t have an idea on what to blog about. What’s even worse for me is knowing what I want to blog but just don’t have the ideas and info to write it out.
#7 Where do you see your blog in one year?
If ADRIATASTIC (old blog) lasted for almost six years (since 2008), I find ADRICULOUS following the same path. Hopefully I would get to have more readers/visitors though.
#8 What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?
Meeting some new people and “updated” writing skills. Blogging also led me in to loving and appreciating the art of writing as well.
#9 What is the most discouraging thing that happens to you?
In blogging or life in general? In blogging, it’s probably that no one reads my blog (or rather, no one’s commenting in them). In life, well… nothing, really.
#10 What is your lasting motivation?
Knowing the fact that I am not alone in all aspects and that I have family and friends to support me whenever the chips are down.
Yay! Blog tags!
