    That must be frightening to be up North in N. Korea like that, but alas, the performances are just as beautiful as ever!

      Yup, indeed. Even without the backup singers and background effects, the performances are indeed beautiful. A little conservative but still beautiful. :)

      I have to say, these first-generation K-Pop idols were really brave enough to perform up north like that, right in front of Kim Jong-Il (well, it’s 1999 ^^) and the Pyongyang elite like that. I think S. Korea may tone down a bit on which performers they’re going to send up there if they do have these concerts again. A young and fresh 18-yr-old singer named Song So-Hee would probably be perfect as a representative of S. Korea that probably wouldn’t make the N. Koreans cringe. She sings the old-fashioned gugak style. (traditional Korean music)
