For the first time in three weeks since I reported of my semi-adopted stray cat, Kaachan, giving birth for the second time (as in, second time since she appeared in our backyard one day), here’s the latest on her brand-new litter set. Last year, Kaachan gave birth to three kitties, all of them survived obviously (two of the kitties ventured out on their own but sometimes stops by the backyard, so at least we know they’re still alive) and are now in their teen years. This spring, we get more than three. We get six. 8O
Kaachan sorta lead me to where she had been hiding and taking care of her babies Friday late morning during our backyard “walk” together. Somehow she gave me an expression of happiness when she constantly meowed and rubbed herself on my legs numerous times during our walk. Then immediately she just ran ahead of me and I followed her. Just next door literally to our backyard porch was an old plywood that Dad just left there against the fence for future use of his gardening methods. And right then, I witnessed a preview of the babies she bore after she ran off with her first kitty bore three weeks ago.
I was able to count their heads and I had a first count of five at first. Then later when they all woke up and Kaachan started breastfeeding them, I recounted and saw an extra head. So now instead of my original count of five, there were a huge total of six. Though you can’t really tell that there are really six, don’t be fooled by the bright orange color to the left against the plywood as it is not a type of finished wood. That’s a kitty too. An orange kitty. The black one that you see in the center is a pure black cat. It’s easy to assume that Darkness is the father, as well as Ming Yao, but who knows what other studly tomcat Kaachan had been involved with lately. I mean, among the entire litter of black, charcoal gray, and dark brown, we get a straight-out orange one?
Dad declared that the orange cat would be a special cat. I don’t know exactly what he meant by this, but he had never seen a completely orange cat before. He stated he had seen orange cats that were actually orange spots on purely white cat and he had seen an orange cat with stripes. Just like how he wished that Junior would stay, he also hoped that this orange one would stay as well.
I’m already pondering the name of the orange cat. Tangerine or something? Something orangey or else it wouldn’t match. I’ll ponder and brainstorm some more later.
And there you have it. I actually have more pictures, but I’ll save them for later for my upcoming portfolio gallery. Would really love to read some comments regarding the kitties and maybe suggestions on how to take care of them. Keep in mind that Kaachan is a stray (or feral?) cat, so indoor cat care doesn’t apply here. So, what do you all say? ^_^
