It’s been a loooong time since I blogged. I know because the latest entry that I had posted was dated the first day of November. It is now the third day of December.1
Currently I have been working part-time at a brand-new cafe that just opened in my area. It was only down the street (main boulevard less than a minute from my house) and it only takes me 10-15 minutes (depending on the traffic) to drive there. I call myself a “jill of some trades” in there because I do more than just one assigned task. Working at a cafe isn’t exactly what I had in mind, however, I seriously had to keep myself stable financially, and while I look for a suitable full-time job that doesn’t involve food, I have to get myself busy that doesn’t involve staying home and do practically nothing if you know what I mean.
It’s because of this part-time job that I kept putting off working on a new layout for this blog. I have two days off post-Thanksgiving and had plenty of time to spare, therefore I finally sat on my lazy butt to work on the new theme. I used a child theme based on the Headway Themes framework, just like how I created the main layout for the Let’s Volt IN! collective. I know how the layout looks rather similar, but that’s because I’m still getting used to the features of the framework. One day, for sure, I’ll make one awesome custom theme using this framework. One day. Really.
There were also plenty of things that has been going on in my life outside web designing. I barely had the time to continue writing on my fanfics because of my exhaustion from work. I’ve almost forgotten how exhausting and hectic the (franchised) food/restaurant industry was like.2 I also barely had any time for anything else as well. It’s a little sad.
Later today, my jury duty summons continues. I’m also having a day off too. I really wish that this whole jury duty thing would be over so I can get back to work again.
That’s it now. It’s 2am. Goodnight, everyone! And while I’m at it, Merry Christmas!
