I guess you could say that I finally created a Facebook page specifically for this blog is one way of me celebrating its brand-new look (and functionality) of ADRICULOUS.me. If you’re the type who loves to spend most of your time on Facebook and never on other people’s personal websites, I really do hope you would like the Facebook page and spread the word to everyone. I would feel a whole lot more inspired to write more and write often knowing that I have readers in this blog.1
In a nutshell, I opened a Facebook page for this blog because I’ve learned that many bloggers2 have a separate Facebook page for their blogs, mainly to sync-post their latest posts from their blogs to their followers, and of course, for promotion. Recently until today, using Jetpack‘s Publicize module, I had my blog sync-post every post I made from this blog to my personal Facebook account. Hoping that a number of my friends on Facebook would at least stop by and read my latest posts, I have been unsuccessful. Most of my friends on Facebook aren’t bloggers or readers after all.
Rather than using the BLA-BLA-ing since 2002! subtitle, I decided to use something else for the Facebook page instead. I was creating the cover image using Photoshop and ComiPo!3 and I saw the “kicking” pose that looked really cool and applied it to my “mascot girl.” In a way also, the kicking pose reminded me of my old college days training in Taekwondo, although I never reached the black belt level. Therefore, we get Kicking asphalt with words since 2002! instead. I think there’s a slight ring to it.
Consider this little entry as a welcome to my Facebook page. I really do hope you would take the time to visit and like the page. Also, any ideas to help me promote my blog more would be gladly appreciated.
