Yes, folks. Black is the appropriate color for this particular write-up.
If you’re wondering what’s been happening these past few days, not to mention the past status posts in blue, I’ve got this serious major technical problem that almost cost me to move servers. For some unknown reason1, my web host’s firewall blocked my IP that prevented me from accessing any of my sites and my cpanel even. This issue had been going on for the last 4 days, with the first attempt2 ending up in the server my sites are located going down and had to be turned offline for maintenance. On the 3rd day after the server was finally fixed, I was blocked once again, and with tech support no longer responding to me at that time, I was ready to give up hope and decided to cancel my hosting with them. This morning, I sent in my cancellation request before I went to church.
When I got home, I got a response from tech support and bumped the priority of my support ticket to high priority3 and from there, I decided to hold off on to my cancellation request and have another go at fixing this problem. It pretty much took the entire day and it only wasn’t until around 9:00pm PST that tech support finally fixed the problem and unblocked my IP. With this, I decided to stick with them and requested billing to cancel my cancellation support. Moving servers overall, especially if all of your sites are all powered by WP, it’s a major hassle.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
From this point on I’ll be a little busy. I’ll be building my official Q*Bee Quilt. Magical #220!!
On the sidenote...
- and will probably never know what the cause of this issue was… [↩]
- by the web host tech support, of course… [↩]
- In their case, they call it the 911 priority level. [↩]
