Let’s just face it. Macs seriously cost an arm and a leg, but they’re every person’s dream system, especially for designers. They are never affordable wherever you go, even here at Apple’s homebase.
Anybody— just anybody— would seriously want a Mac. Even I want to have a Mac. I’ll even have to go so far as to having a mock Mac just so I can show the world that even a frugal person like me can also have a Mac. :(

I think I’m one of those few crazy people who has never wanted a MAC related computer (or anything for that matter Iphones… ew!), but that is mostly because I am a CIS nerd. I have heard of several network admins using IPADs to remotely launch and monitor their server environments; however, I have never been particularly fond if them personally (I would prefer and ANDROID operating system mobile tablet, I feel as though they multi-task better.)
That isn’t to say that I think MACs are horrible computers, I just feel as though if you do not do much graphic design work you really aren’t getting the most bang for your buck. But I will admit that IBooks are far more ascetically appealing than your average laptop. ;-)

LOL Hi Katherine! Welcome!
You do have a point there, actually that entire writeup was more of a sarcasm caption to the picture I found since I can’t come up with anything witty LOL. :D I do own an Android OS-powered mobile tablet and it really works wonders for me as it has what I’ve wanted in an ideal tablet (reader and wi-fi, don’t really care about everything else LOL).
I’m not a huge Apple fan either. I used to own an iPod Nano (I actually won it at a festival raffle LOL) but it doesn’t really keep the same high quality of the mp3s that I upload in there so I gave it to my brother instead. Half of my family owns an iPhone (dad, bro and sis), I’ve tried/tested it before myself, never really fond of it, so I went for a Blackberry instead. I own a 6-year-old laptop and despite that it’s slow and tends to freeze here and there, it’s still very functional and loving it. Though pretty soon I will have to save a lot of money to buy a new one in case it breaks down sooner or later.
In terms of MACs, I think it’s just for graphic designing purposes that I would use the MAC for, otherwise I’d still stick to PCs. Every tool I’ve used for web designing are all old school, but still compatible and functional.
