Yes, I’m using a royalty-free image this time. I have no digital art for this entry, mainly because life really took over my free time to blog. Well, I only wrote one entry for the entire year of 2023 here on T.A.L. That’s a total fail for me — a total failure on my part.
But, because I only wrote one entry so far for 2023 (not counting this one), I can do a bit of a recap of my life since that one entry, dated back in May 2023.
I decided to enroll in another bootcamp through my company’s career choice program benefit: investing in education for career advancement or career change. This time, I decided to go through a career change, mainly because I don’t have the time to build projects and, I have to admit that my dropping out of my 2022 web dev bootcamp also gave me some trauma. It’s the type of imposter syndrome trauma where, despite that I love web dev, is a failure in web dev too.
And so, I enrolled in the Data Analytics Bootcamp provided by Merit America. I enrolled because of their support system and their job placement program. I never really gotten any form of support system on my 2022 web dev bootcamp and workload was just very stressful. For 2023, completing and earning my certificate via Google/Coursera in November was the biggest accomplishment that I have for this year.
I also said goodbye to my adrianne.dev portfolio because of this career transition. I still have this URL, and is now my new data analytics portfolio. I also made my new link in bio page, where I just link my sites and social media links, in August. My career coach also did advise me to add all my (old) web dev projects in my data analytics portfolio too. However, this would mean that I would have to rebuild my portfolio. Right now, it’s only a one-page site.
I want the portfolio to be more elaborate… maybe convert that plain HTML/CSS to WordPress. I also converted my Adrianne Codes coding blog into getting hosted under Hashnode and redirected my domain there. I no longer have the time to maintain it by myself when all I wanted to do was to write and publish posts.
I still love to create. It’s just that now, time is my enemy.
I discovered Tableau and R. I learned a new programming (?) language, R. I had fun learning R, but I feel that I need to learn more. Because of that, I found some awesome programs within Coursera connected to data analytics, and a more elaborate program for R. I also discovered that Google also offers Business Intelligence and Advanced Data Analytics programs as well. I started jotting down programs that I plan on enrolling on a self-paced basis. In that way, I don’t feel all the stress in beating the deadline dates completing them. I look forward to completing them too!
I completed the bootcamp in early November, and yes, I feel a sense of accomplishment when I finally did. I got the cert and the badge on my LinkedIn and on my portfolio.
December was very difficult, because my work required us to work 50 hours a week until the week before Christmas. On the last week of this 50-hour period, I fell really ill. I have to thank my updated COVID-19 vaccine side-effects for making me completely weak and stay home. I literally did not do anything productive while I was at home because my entire body was aching very bad, my sinuses were completely blocked, and I just couldn’t stop sneezing and coughing. I didn’t recover until Christmas Day.
Now that I’m finally writing my second entry of 2023 on the second to the last day of 2023, I’m now thinking about my plans for 2024.
These are not resolutions. They’re goals. Long-term goals because I know not all goals can be finished within the year. This is just a brief list:
The ADRICULOUS Life: I still want to continue this as an art diary blog, but with the little time that I have, I won’t be able to have a ready-made art for that particular post. I still have a lot to learn. Therefore, I’ll be using edited royalty-free images again.
Adrianne Codes: I plan on writing my case studies here, but at the same time, I feel it’s a lot more fitting if I just open a blog section that serves as a case studies blog too. I still have yet to decide this yet.
ADRIANNE.io: Yep, I plan on redoing the entire portfolio with more items, its own blog section, and even add my old web dev projects too.
ADRIANNE.bio: It’s a linked in bio page but I feel that I need to do more with this.
Chika Wota Blog: I may start blogging here again about my favorite J-Pop artists, but I don’t know when.
Starpura Space: I’ll keep on blogging and add more features when I see fit.
Get back into job placement program using my alumni perms and find an entry level data analytics job.
Earn more certifications: Data Analytics with R, Business Intelligence, Advanced Data Analytics (also known as Data Science). It’s impossible to complete all of them in the same year, but I still want to complete them.
Overall, I want to be productive in 2024. I feel productive this year, but too productive because I lost my time doing things I’m happy about, such as watching my favorite vTubers or playing video games on Switch and the Steam Deck. I can’t wait!
I’m closing this entry here now. See you all in 2024 and a Happy, Prosperous New Year to all of you!
