Instead of bitching ranting about my computer STILL not working that I have to send my system directly to Dell, I will instead talk about an important season that became a part of my life: Lent.
I decided to give up quite a lot of things for this journey. I don’t have to explain thoroughly why Roman Catholics go through this particular practice. Just look up Lent in the interwebs.
Here are the things I am giving up:
#1 Online gaming. That includes my mobile games.
#2 White rice. I will still resort to brown rice and quinoa for health reasons.
#3 Soda. I haven’t been drinking soda for almost 2 years now so this shouldn’t be a problem.
#4 Candy. Any sweet morsels including chocolate, even if they’re sugar-free. Altoids not included.
#6 (Occasional) swearing. Everyone swears, even in silence. I happen to be one of those people. Even though I don’t swear a lot in public, it still is a bad habit.
Of course, there are things that I do plan to do during Lent as well:
#1 Reading the Bible about the Lenten journey of 40 days and nights. I thank the Bible mobile app for being able to do this outside home.
#2 Start an art journal. Not sure how I’m going to do it but I will eventually do it.
#3 Join the Easter Vigil choir… If only the music coordinator wasn’t so selective with the singers.
#4 Pray in silence… during breaks at work. Haters not needed.
There are others in mind but will not mention it here.
I’ll probably be blogging more often (even if it’s through the phone), but probably for more self-reflection for Lent. Stay tuned.
